successive plate numbers

Post by Scram64 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 5:14 pm

Anybody else own 2 or more vintage bikes with successive plate numbers.
By luck only, I managed to purchase two 1969 Honda Dreams like that.
I bought them 8 years apart, knowing they came from the same town.
I had the second bike home for 3 months before it dawned on me to check vins and plates.
The vins aren't even close. One is black and one is blue.
I did a Mapquest on the owners address and they lived .8 miles apart.
I'd like to think that they were friends that bought the bikes together on the same day.
Back then, the Honda dealers had the plates and put them on when the bike was sold.
Well, they are united once again, after 40 years.

Damn, Sam, What are the odds of the same guy buying two bikes from two different sources that close together? Staggering just to think of it. RW

Hmm, maybe you should buy a lottery ticket or two :)
