Kick start issuesKick start issuesI changed my clutch cable this weekend. Put everything back together, clutch works great but now every time I use electric start the kick start flops down. And won't stay up if the bikes running. Turn bike off and pull it up it stays. I can kick it Then it flops again once running
Kick starterI turned it once to get it all lined up. That put some temp sin on it. How much tension should be on it. Thanks for the help
Re: Kick starterIf it was OK before then you need to put some more tension in the spring. The kickstarter shaft needs to be rotated fully clockwise against the stop before putting th ecase back on. If it is not against the stop that will lose some of the spring tension.
One possibility is that the roller bearing on the kickstart shaft that supports the gearbox countershaft is worn out. Once the bearing is damaged it tends to drag the kickstarter with the engine running. That's a big job to fix requiring the cases to be split. http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cl77-scrambl ... ml#results The rollers (25) support part 5 against part 18....... G
