FluteTears wrote:Well I put grease in the cable nipple but not at the ends I will do that this weekend and look at the turn in the air cleaner it would be the sharpest turn in the setup. Something is binding to be sure today's ride I had a popping of the cable as I squeezed it a not smooth but dragging feel. Starting to wonder about how good the new cable is.
Thanks

Cable lube can be your friend. I don't like to use grease in cables. Any bike with any cable one of those cable lube contraptions with cable lube spray can really help things out. And what LM says, good cable routing.

clutch pull

While you are inspecting & lubing the release threads look inside and make sure there is a 5/16 ball inside where it will push aginst the push rod. When changing cables they often fall out and make a beeline for the devils triangle, never to seen agine.

A update after taking of the side cover and cleaning the screw adjustment and yes putting that ball back in place (been down that road) I still had a clutch that well was not good. So pulled replacement cable put next to old one and well it is about 5 to 8 in to long.
New cable on its way should messure the same as old one in the mean time I put the old one back in and stiill the same problems of binding.

Now the old cable has a chrome elbow at the lever end I have not found that cable figured that it was for show and nothing else. I hope LOL
Thanks all I will be getting a new cable this week and will report if that fixed it or not.

BTW for some fun I took it out on the hiway for the first time and got on it hard well the slide stuck at full speed Woo Hoo thank god for the kill switch I put on it...........
