Have you loosened the bolt at the adjuster in the kick starter side cover? If not your clutch can't be adjusted correctly. You must use the 5/16 ball and adjust the part in the case not just the HB lever. ................lm

I have been watching this thread for a while, And I have been wondering about the grinding down the rods to remove the dimple.

From my inexperienced point of view I can't see how this would help the clutch pull tension in any way. If you look at how that clutch mechanism works That dimple does not come into play whatsoever concerning how hard it is to pull the clutch lever.

I could be wrong about this but I have a dimple on mine and I have a smooth moderate clutch pull. If you remove and clean that pivoting cam assy and lube it I think you may find your clutch will get better. Just my thoughts

hey guys, there is a problem i've noticed on about four dreams in the last couple of years. the large slotted adjuster gets adjusted too far and causes the inside lever to have a bad advantage. when i adjust it back a little, and take up the slack with the threaded adjusters, the clutch becomes unbelievably eraser to pull. here are some bad drawings i also posted in the ca72/ca77 section.

That's interesting -- my clutch is tight and I'd like to take a look in there and learn more about how it works.

This may seem like a silly question, but do I need to get a replacement gasket if I take the side cover off?

No gasket on the right side but there are gaskets on the left side. Cliff

nope, there's no oil behind it. just levers and alternators and stuff.
