Crossing the 2nd and 3rd gears

Post by drdoom1951 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 2:03 pm

I realize that to cross the 2nd and 3rd gears on the CB77 transmission would require disassembly or removal of the gears from both the main transmission shaft and the secondary shaft. Is there some kine of description as to how to disassembly the two shafts so that the gears can be removed and then installed in their new positions?
As description of the teardown procedure for each shaft would also work, since the same steps are used when replacing gears with broken teeth.
I've already removed the two shafts from the cases, and I'm ready to remove the gears and swap the positions, but I just don't have a clue as to how to disassemble the two shafts.
Thanks

Just prise back the wire clips and the gears will slide off easily, getting the clips back isn't as easy but not that difficult, just a bit fiddly.
