Trans Oil sealTrans Oil sealWhat would cause the Transmission oil seal to just pop and spew oil all over the place on my CB77? Whats the best way to keep them in and do I have to split the cases in order to do so? Thanks, Dizcod
Re: Trans Oil sealUsually this happens when the vent on top is blocked.
Bevel the sharp edge and put it back in. ..........lm
That's exactly what happened, I pinched off the engine vent hose while it was running to make sure It wasn't plugged and to see if there was pressure and there was but I pinched it for about 1 min. and after all that, thats when I notice the extreme oil leak. I'll never do that again. Thanks Loudmouse, your a Genius.
Also what would cause alot of smoke to come out of the engine breather vent. Thanks, Dizcod80
Is it smoke or vapor?. .............lm
I have the breather hose routed to my Right side cover were the chain resides via the hole under the engine cover. It seems to smoke After i have had a long ride with her. I'll come to a stoplight and a flume of smoke comes from that area. It seems like it's oil burning off the engine, Like a white colored smoke but it's got to be coming from the breather. Could it possibley be shot piston rings or valve guides? Doesn't seem like there is much to go wrong with the valve guides, there doesn't seem to be a seal on them. Could I possibly have put the top gaskets on wrong where there is the cylinder top full faced gasket then a breather plate, another gasket which is not full faced, and then the top or skull. Thanks for the info. Dizcod
Did ya put the 2 SMALL HOLES in the full gasket and the metal plate toward the front?. .........lm
I may not have, I can't remember how they were when I disassembled the engine. But I will Make sure they are when I reassemble. Would that possibly cause it to smoke like that, Is that why those channels or slats are in the top cover and also is the full faced gasket the one that rests on the very top between the breather plate. Thank a million. Dizcod
