Hi all,
I am wondering if the hydraulic steering dampers from other models can be swapped over to a 1964 CB77. Part number 53700-237-000.
Also, what mounting bolts would I be looking for if they do swap in?
Thanks,
Khanh
CB77 Hydraulic steering damperHi Khan
Welcome to the forum. The Honda CYB race kit used the CL77 damper which was attached using two special bolts. One was a simple stud that fits in a hole in the lower triple clamp and the other was an extended top engine hanger bolt with a cranked end. http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb72-general ... ml#results The engine hanger bolts occasionally turn up on eBay as do the CL77 steering dampers. There seem to be a few aftermarket bolts floating around on ebay, so I shouldn't have a problem with that, but looking at some CL77 dampers, there seems to be a bracket attached that I do not see on the CB77 parts finch. Like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-STEERING- ... ae&vxp=mtr Am I right in thinking that the CB77 does not use that bracket? and the bolt(s) just mount directly through the holes? That is what I understand from reading the parts finch. Thanks again, Khanh
