Looking for good sounding exhaust pipes for a CA77

Post by daywalker » Mon Jun 10, 2013 9:18 pm

Like the title says, I am in the market for a pair of nice deep throaty sounding exhuast pipes. I heard the ones on this video and loved them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RaLvylBKtE Although, they aren't as long as the stock pipes or the ones I have now, I am mainly concerned about the cheaper price and how it sounds. This guy seems to have found what I'm looking for but he doesn't respond to questions on his video. If anyone has any good suggestions of what to buy or what kind of pipes the guy in the video has and where to buy them, I'd be interested in hearing them. Thanks.

Those are Emgo 80-25300 15" Tapered mufflers. Google that part number and you'll find a supplier. I just put Emgo 80-03310 12" "shorty" mufflers on a Dream and was quite pleased with the sound. Got those from powersportsuperstore.com for less than $20 each plus shipping but I don't think they have the tapered ones.

In either case, you'll need 1-5/8" clamps and some .010" shim stock. You will also need to fabricate mounting brackets. I picked up the M10 threaded rod from the original mounts and made a couple of short links to the studs on the mufflers.

Thank you for your reply. That's awsome you knew the exact part model #. I will look those up. Here's what I found

I will definitely be getting these. The sound is amazing out of the pipes in that video. Not too shabby in price either. Thanks again!

Are those stock handle bars? They look a bit cooler than normal.

Thanks - Those are OEM bars, just cranked back a little. The early CA77 tank and solo seat also give it a distinctive look. I'm still looking for a left side cover, the battery is naked on the other side...

Ebay is where I get most of my parts. Seems to be a catch-all. I'll have to pull my handle bars back a little ;) I also am looking to get a solo seat. My girl won't ride with me so why not, right? Gonna be a fun summer to ride for me, being I just got my Dream a week ago. Cheers!

DW, you can find those mufflers that 48 mentions at JC Whitney. Here's the link. Gotta scroll down a bit and ya will find them.
