APEXCYCLES - My bad experience
APEXCYCLES - My bad experienceAll truth, and nothing but the truth. I'm helping my Brother in law fix up his 65 Honda CA77, he needed mufflers and decided to get replacements from Apexcycle in Bellingham Washington, and made the mistake of sending him a check and not going through eBay. When we got them, they didnt fit right at all, they hung way too low and off to the side, so much so that they would have dragged the ground in almost any turn over 30 mph.
When he contacted the guy about returning them, the guy (Tom) was rude and said "Well if they don;t fit then you dont have a Dream", which was ridiculous, we weren't saying they didnt fit, they just looked terrible and would be dangerous if we used them. So he sent them back. After weeks of no contact, this joker Tom finally responded to an email, (only after a PayPal complaint was filed) that he WAS NOT going to return the money, because he "didn't have it", and he was going to KEEP the mufflers as well. He was insulting, and abusive in his emails, he is not scrupulous an I do not recommend doing any business with him, he's a real low life. So currently, we are planning our trip to Bellingham, it's not too far to drive, and kicking this guy's teeth in should make the drive worth it. A word of advice.
I've removed Apex ads from the website.
The suspension will be in place until it's confirmed that he has addressed the customers' complaints (in the right way). The "Apex experience" and "Apex Products" posts will remain. The "bickering" posts will be gone (as soon as I find time to delete them). ..MS
Dont do itSure the mufflers he advertises on eBay are cheap, but they're the same knock-offs that comes from Asia/Vietnam, and those are $100, so just get them direct. Or better yet, buy some from JC Whitney catalog. To say nothing of his human skills, the whole reason for the return was the way that the mufflers fit the bike. If you're willing or able to cut off the brackets and re-mount them so the pipes dont hang down and flare out away from the bike, then maybe their worth it for you.
Just dont expect be surprised if you have a problem with them to get good customer service, and if you are going to buy from him, go through eBay so you'll have some protection, he prides himself on a good seller reputation, we made the mistake of going through the Apex website, that was the big mistake. All I can say is, the buyer beware. You will get what you pay for, and not more. And if they don't work, you'll have to deal with this Tom guy, and thats not pleasant at all. And for the record, I was nothing but polite to this guy, and so was my Brother, and he was abusive and insulting from the get-go. MDS[/b]
As it has turned out - Happy EndingToday ApexCycles refunded the money. It took weeks, but Tom did finally do the right thing. I felt it would be wrong to not include this as I included all of the negative stuff. I'm not saying that it's likely we will choose to do business with him again, but I have to at least give him credit for finally returning the money.
I consider this matter closed. [/i]
Fair play to both, and especially to you for reporting his capitulation. There's too much negativity across the globe without it encroaching into hobbies!
Whether or not you give Tom another chance to provide you with parts and redeem his QoS is, obviously, your choice. I had a supply problem with Kara Gregory (281dollhouse) which took several months to resolve; cutting a long story, she came through and we remained friendly throughhout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or to deal with her again. She's taken a lot of crap after her QoS suffered following a serious family tragedy, with written threats and wishes for her family to be struck by lightning and such! We all need to maintain a grip on reality and remember that the other person is entitled to a valid perspective. I'd say Tom has learned a valuable lesson: bad news travels faster than light, and sh1t can be really sticky! apexMongadillo,Very happy to see that your money was finally returned. Without this forum you probably would never have seen it.
Kudos to Michael Stoic for giving Tom a reality check. I hope Tom has learned a lesson and changes the way he does business. 66 Dream
