Dream shock oil

Post by Bugman » Fri Mar 09, 2012 8:45 pm

Searched the archives and can not find the quantity of 10 Weight oil to put in the rear shocks of a 65 305 Dream. Mine had only 20cc. I got mine all apart, and someone had been there before me. Anybody got a picture of the internal parts in order? Anybody got a source of the 9X26.4X10 seals. Mine are hard as a rock. Thanks

G'day Bugman

You may find this helpful; search for "dissasembly of rear shock covers", a lot of good info from G-man in there. Also in there, G-man lists the seal size as 27.2 x 9 x 10. A couple of vendors in Thailand sell these on ebay - try searching for rear damper seal of similar. Also try part number 91254-216-000, but from memory there were acouple of different part numbers listed - I just ordered 6 seals.

Also the Honda shp Manual for the C72 and C77 (assumed to be the same for the CA series) list 39 mm in both the front and rear dampers.

Hope this helps.[/url]
Thanks.

Thanks for the imformation. My seals were the 26.4 size, but I guess the 27.2 will fit. Is 9mm the rod size? Looks like an order to Thailand is in order.

G'day Bugman

I haven't got my shocks disassembled yet, but it does appear that the 27.2 x 9 x 10 seals are correct. The 9 mm is the shaft size and they are 10 mm thick.
Thanks.
