Carb rebuild kitCarb rebuild kitHello all, first post, first bike restore.Just picked up two 305 dream Ca77 1965,looks original. Was going to flip ,but now want to restore/get running.Has been sitting for years.Poured oil in cyclinders, changed oil,new pluges, good compression. What carb kit manufacture should be used/stayed away from?Where is the best place to purchase parts?
I'm also in the early stages of my restoration and can say that obtaining the literature on restoration, service and parts is the best way to begin. If you look to the left you'll see the "literature" link, click on it and purchase the Bill Silver books on your model. That and searching the appropriate threads on this forum are extremely helpful. Good luck.
Welcome to the forum.
Here is a link to parts suppliers: http://www.honda305.com/forums/superhaw ... t6470.html As far as carb kits are concerned, you are generally better off to clean and re-use original parts than to substitute those from an aftermarket kit. (Unless damaged) Bowl gasket and o-rings may be the only new parts needed. Remove all jets and make sure all holes and passages are completely clean (jets and carb body), and do NOT overtighten the carb mounting bolts or the carb body can warp. 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
