Fuel Petcock feed tubes leaking

Post by jbills » Mon Feb 25, 2013 1:45 pm

I have been having issues with the two metal feed tubes (rubber carb hoses connect here) coming loose in the petcock housing and leaking gas. Is there some type of gasket paste or ? to add to these tubes and then tap them back into place. I wonder why Honda would even design these to be separate pieces in the first place. Just two more things to come vibrate loose on my CL77.

Any ideas out there? Also, I bought a new petcock to gas tank ribber, so does this need any sealant or just bolt into place?

Thanks to all.

Put red loctite on the tubes then tap them back in place. I've always put a lite coat of pipe dope on the tank to petcock rubber seal.
