Carb Drain HosesCarb Drain Hosesit seems all the photos of carbs posted here don't have the drain hoses attached....am i correctly reading between the lines and these should be deleted? is so, why?....if not is there an ideal length? what about the breather nipples on the cylinder head? my bike is missing the hoses shown in the parts catalogue, should i install hoses there?
thanks. jarl ---
What I'm riding (when running): 1966 (mostly) CL77 305 Breather hoseYou can go either way, I used a 4" or 5" piece to get it out of the way of my cam chain adjuster. I think stock they did go to a tee. Mines' a rider not a show bike.
From memory, I bought my CB77 in 1965, there was a y hose from the block breathers. i think this was connected to the inlet valve guides. I never did get around to redrilling them when the guides were replaced.
The carb drain tubes that come out the bottom did have an odd effect in certain side winds. The bike used to cut out on one cylinder, possibly caused by altering the air pressure in the float bowls. I found putting a plastic tube on these to overflow into the gearbox cover area solved the problem. Leon
