the alternate FLOAT Method, is stated in the Bill Slivers book page 7 for CL77
is stated 7-8mm from top. 1992 book .
i have now measured all parts of carb on CL77
it is here in my new table.
http://cl77.servebeer.com/

The risk of using that, is of you jet holder is not same height ,or other jet sizes.
its a great cheat , if you once do it right then measure the jet offset, sure.

How did LM say to do it?

I think you will find that his way works very well and requires no new digital tools- just good old fashioned analogue eye balls.

Thanks teazer.
Looks as we may have another digital member.
I looked at his information and find that he agrees with ALMOST everything I've learned over the years.
IMO a bit to much info (sort of like the OLD TIRED OIL thread) but he sure has gathered a lot.
TEXAS being a LARGE STATE I sure wonder where in E. TEXAS he is located. ..... ...........lm

Post by CL77NOW » Wed Jun 01, 2011 9:53 am

i guess a carb page is too much? ( i do know that many like to spoon feed data) i like a single page
with all data. if my page is too much , ill help others.
sorry
tell me is your classic collection fully insured.? hummmmm, not to mention other collections. etc.

digital fear?

you do know an 100% pure differential (called absolute ) vacuum gauge tool exists?
so when I post a digital anything, imagine the precursor there. (analog)

easy.
YMMV

Ya misunderstand what IMO as I use it is just IMO not for others to follow.
I like your efforts with that site and am sure it will help others.
However I attempt to keep things sort of to the point/question and not fill the forum with what's first/the answer/the more/more/more if that doesn't work.
May interest ya to know although we have a large membership to this forum we get hit with new members which jump in/ask for info/ask for more info and some seem to expect us to do all the brain work so they can "do it the easy".
Then off they go!
Never heard of Smith County, Texas. Big Town?
I live in Kerrville, Texas and when some of the TEXANS on the list see that they visit and we work on bikes/ride a bit. ....................lm

yes, i belong to many forums.,and know the bouncers, they pop in and are gone.
i like to take a hard topic (injection, carbs or ignition and document the cures)
on this bike the spark cam advancer is rube goldberg no? " i still blink"

trouble with most bouncers are , they didnt do the first things first.
full tune up,(wires and new res.cap, points, condenser) timing check, advance check, compression good. etc.
then jump on carb too soon.

and yes, its only my 2 cents. for sure.
