That's good to know bamacl. I have tried the new needle and jet that came with the overhaul kit but it didn't make much difference.

I looked at your disassembled carburetor picture and can't tell for sure if the slide is right. The low speed air enters through the radius cut on the slide and it must be facing toward the air filter. If the slide is not correct the engine will run crazy rich on low end and can run well after it gets on the needle.

The slide is marked "PW22" and "2.0", which I believe is right but the slide is definitely a suspect!
