Fuel Line

Post by stonelyon49 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:48 am

I have a CA77 305 Dream. So I got fed up with the leaking stock petcock and bought an aftermarket 90 degree one which seems to work fine. Problem is, it is longer than the original and shortens the distance to the carb inlet making it hard to get a fuel line in place without crimping the hose. I've seen some pics on the forum that show a longer hose, one that sort of loops around, and wondered if these setups work well since, I believe, the system depends on gravity? Also, how well do they work with an inline fuel filter? Has anyone else had this problem and solved it in a different way? Thanks.

Disregard the gravity thing. With the "head" in the tank, fuel, even with lots of tight bends in the pipe, would go a long way before being restricted by internal friction. Ditto filter. Try it. With the outlet side open, it will, as we say in the UK --- just piss out.
