Stock slow jet was 35 on mine.

If you still have the original jets and they are not damaged, I would just clean them good and re-install them and go from there. They are better quality than the replacements, and don't generally wear out.

It is common not to get any increased power from the last 1/4 throttle at given load conditions, even on new bikes.

Air filter clean?

Plug chops are best done with new plugs, as deposits from many miles of part throttle running can cloud those from a short distance at WOT.
New filter 100 miles ago.
I just bought a new set of D6HA's (D8's in now) and I am going to make a test run tomorrow.

More to follow.

New D6's with 20 minutes of run time. Could I get some opinions on jetting and timing? My wife started calling me the Spark Plug Whisperer. Nice, huh.

Way on the lean side. The first plugs looked a little pink from heat. In all my 35 years of bikes, street and race I have found that plugs tell a good story of what is going on. You need to richen up a tad. I would rather be a little on the rich (COOL) side instead of lean. Lean is HOT!

G; D6'S are pretty hot for a dream. risky business. your pics of the 8's looked pretty good, I would stick with that and look elsewhere for trouble.
Good luck

Have you tried putting the choke on a little when it appears to lose power?

G
Yes, and it runs better with some choke. What does that indicate?

Too lean.

You need to try a bigger main jet.
