CB77 Carb Needle Valves

Post by stephi_m » Wed May 21, 2014 1:17 pm

Hi,

The needle valves are worn in the carbs on my CB77 - one has a visible score mark around it. The bike runs ok but is running too rich, so I would like to replace the worn parts in the carbs.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket needles valves? - Keyster and Sudco are the ones I have come across so far. If anyone has fitted either of these and had good or bad experiences I'd be grateful for advice. Or if anyone knows of a source for NOS needle valves at all?

Thanks,

Steph.

Steph

I assume that you mean the needle attached to the carb slide?

I bought some OEM ones and the jet that it runs in from David Silver a month or so ago. Have you tried adjusting the position of the needles?

PM me and I can send you some carb tuning guides.

Needle valve in the UK normally means 'float valve'

Honda parts book refers to "jet, needle" when dealing with the carb needle.

Sorry, I wanted to post a picture but have been away from my computer all weekend and can't work out how to do it on my phone!

Looks like it is the float valve I'm after, for want of a better description it's the part with a pointy end!!

Thanks for the replies.

Steph.
