Leaky TankLeaky TankThe tank has a slight leak on my CB77. Does anyone have any pointers on repairing the problem? The leak is right at the seam along the bottom right edge.

Thanks.
Re: Leaky TankSeam leaks suck !
How bad of a leak is it and exactly where is it on the tank ?
I may be able to help you out repairing it or selling you one.

georGe
Re: Leaky TankHey George,

The leak is very slow. The seam is just damp all the time (I don't think it drips, but the right carb always has a little gas on it).

So, I'm up for whatever repair suggestions you have. Or if you've got one you are willing to part with, send me an email.

Thanks!
Scott
smcnamar@hotmail.com
Re: Leaky Tankdrain the gas, wash it out and solder it. just like a radiator on a car. or take the tank and get it lined with epoxy.
Re: Leaky TankScott, Iwas gonna email ya but my server has been down.
I agree w/ mr.firebird about having it soldered just be careful about where ya take. I have seen more botched jobs than good ones on tanks by so called "PROS".
As for sealing w/ epoxy DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF !!! they forget to mention a key step in the instructions. Theres a place that advertises in Walnecks that does excellant sealing for a decent price.

georGe
Re: Leaky TankI just sealed my cl77 tank with this stuff called Kreem. I got it from a local Honda bike dealer. Its a 3 part deal whereas it de-rusts, etches the metal, then seals. Worked real well, and for 33 bucks and a couple days time, well worth it.
Re: Leaky Tankyou can also use por-15 which is great. costs aroudn 38 bucks, it comes with some fabric to close holes. works great. It removes old liners in there too

http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=321

worked fine.. my tank is all shiny inside!
