Re: Kickstarter questions

Thanks DJM
So to complete my question, the kick lever will only contact the foot peg when it is in the 6:00 position? Other than that, there is no stop for the kick lever.
Does anyone know what the kick starter stopper bolt is that LM referred to is? Is it internal to the transmission case?

Kickstarter questions

I have a 64 CL72 and I want to verify that I have the kickstarter lever installed in the correct position. CL77 drain screw washer replacement

I have a CL77 that is leaking fuel around the drain screw on the left carburator. I believe the fiber washer sealing the drain screw has OD = 8mm and ID = 6mm. Can someone confirm that. Where is a good source for either the red fiber or a metal crush washer replacement for this washer?

Re: CL72 shocks squeaking

I pulled the shocks off the bike and held them upright while I sprayed WD40 and some white lithium grease around the retainers near the top eye mount. This seemed to provide enough lubrication at the top of the internal spring to make the squeaking go away.

CL72 shocks squeaking

I have a 1964 CL72 and the rear shocks squeak when I bounce up and down on the suspension. I have put some lube on the pivot points for the shock eye mounting points but that did not solve the problem. Looks like I need to remove the shocks and disassemble and lube them. They are the eye to eye styl...

OK, I trust your judgement.
I guess I will put the engine back together, put it in the bike and see how it performs.
Thanks again for all your feedback.
