set rings and cottersCL 77 lost 2nd gear, suddenly without prior problems.
Split case, busted set ring on the main shaft. That means the cotters are gone, too? I have not started to dig in the sludge yet, and may have lost pieces when I drained oil. Will I be looking for cotter and set ring pieces?
Went through everything................bike starts, idles, runs perfect. Smooth at 50, didn't want to push it on the big shake-down cruise. Stop at light, go to shift into second................no second. I've been taking short test hops on it before, never a problem. Once I get it all sorted..........
