Hi. I have a similar leak on a ’61 CB77 at the starting sprocket under the rotor. If you remove. The rotor etc you'll see the crank bearing itself. The oil can flow unimpeded with those parts removed. Now the starting sprocket rear flanged surface rides inside tge right sd crank seal and if not for ...

Your oil leak problem seems typical of a leaky petcock & carb issues. Rebuild or replace the petcock so gas will not flow while in the off position & the bike is parked for long periods. A leaky petcock allows gasoline to flood into one or both float bowls. If the float needle leaks even a bit, it c...

Response and Superhawk lighting ground wire curiosity...

Yes, I told the guy I bought the bike from that I wish I could thank his fathter (previous owner, now deceased) for rattlecanning and stickering the original Honda emblems. In fact, by doing so, he preserved the hard to find originals that would probably run me over $100 to replace even used. I beli...

First ride and ZEN experience report 08.19.06

I put my 1967 Superhawk CB77 back on the road last week. I finally got it out for a real ride today. I took it out - about an hour after a heavy rain storm, early on a Saturday morning in the suburbs of Chicago. Roads were mostly clear. It was 72 degrees out, slight misty fog remaining from the prev...

Leaded Gas Question

I don't think we have answered this question well yet. If the valve seats and valves were designed for use with leaded gas, the way the bike "runs" has almost nothing to do with it. If they don't have hardened (?) valves and seats, you're looking at a top end job eventually, regardless of how it run...

I live near Chicago.

The Bomber is not for sale, as it is serial number #255 meaning it was most likely built on the first or 2nd day of production according to a couple experts, including Bill Silver.

Let me put the Superhawk back together and we'll talk.

Rear Fender mudguard STAYS last parts I need !

I have been trying to find a pair of rear fender mudguard stays for over a year now with no luck. Does anyone have a used pair for sale? I have a friend in the tool & die business that could make molds for these, but I would need one of each to get the measurements from. If anyone can help I would r...
