Stud removal
This is the type of extractor I use. As e3steve says grip the stud as close to the case as possible and use plenty of heat on the casing near where the stud goes in. Nevermind, Malcolm, I responded before signing in and didn't see the extractor picture. I see it now. ------------------------- Malco...

Engine stud drama
At Loud Mouse recommendation, we have torn the motor down. Rookie mistakes ensued, including engine back together without breather guide spring. Back apart come he cases. In the process we discover stretched studs, a couple of which we noted the threaded end at a distinctive angle not in line with t...

Re: rotor removal
try a 16 mm. x 1.5 mm thread pitch bolt. On my Super Hawk, there was no bolt on the bike that would fit that hole. I used the bolt, threaded it down till it contacted the shaft solidly, gave it a sharp rap with a hammer, and it came off easily. Might be hard to find that size bolt at the corner har...

3 legged puller
I found a picture of someone else on here that had one attached to their rotor. A question. Can I position the puller jaws anywhere that I can get a purchase on the rotor?G-Man wrote:You may be able to get a three-legged puller in there.

Problem removing the rotor assembly - '61 Dream Sport
I've found here in the forum that you can get the rotor assembly off using a rear axle bolt from a Dream. However, that assumes that your rotor threads are in good enough shape to accept said bolt. See pictures attached. The threads on the rotor are smashed flat on the crown of the thread. Apart fro...

Early Dream
MGH C'mon lets get back on topic here! There are some nice parts on that bike. The mirror mounts are spot-on and the mirrors are the right ones for those special brackets. The lever perches should not have mirror bosses and the levers should have very minimal ball ends. I think both left and right ...

Re: Brake hub to frame bar
I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm having my own issue with this sub-assembly. On our early '64 Dream 305, we have the rear brake panel with the recessed hex on the inside, but the shouldered bolt that would go there can't clear the wheel hub. This bike had two similar bolts that only differe...
