Put Tappet Adjust Screw Through Tappet Cover

Has anyone else ever put a tappet adjuster screw through the tappet cover. Made a nice hole before I noticed it.

Where can I purchase new tappet adjuster screws?

The only synching I've done is the thumb/middle finger to make sure they move at the exact same time. Should I be doing more?

Went through everything again this morning. Timing, valve settings, carbs, etc. Found the problem. The lock nut on the left side exhaust valve was loose. All seems good in the world now.

My patience is being tested with my never ending battle with this bike... Tuned following Ed's recipe. Cleaned the carbs twice now. Set floats using Ed's eyeball method. Good call. The condenser ground was bolted on the right side coil instead of the bolt holding the condenser to the coil.
