I'm not sure what color you have but have you considered having it powder coated? The only problem I would see is if the tank has a significant amount of bondo. Blasting takes a tremendous amount of air. A 20 gal compressor might be good for tire inflation and powering a paint sprayer but for blasting you are going to need more air. You might look to see if the part numbers are the same. There are other vendors, but if you go to cmsnl they have parts schematics for most of these bikes and you can look up the part numbers to see if there are the same.

I just recently had the side covers for my Dream re-chromed. Price was $80 each but they look fabulous. They had a little rust and minor pitting but that would be removed in the plating process.
