That is very true. :-) Another member here, GMan, did a great write-up on rebuilding the front and rear shocks and listed seals etc that are required. This may help you.

Bill Silver (a recognised expert on Honda Dreams) seems to agree with you in his documentation that I have. He lists the highest CA77 frame serial number as 314731 from 1963. From there they appear to change to the CA78 format.
