Harbor freight sells it as well. I 've used it to repair holes in CL alternator covers. Like was said, slight difference in color, but beats a hole or bad crack, especially since the part is hard to come by. Also repaired some valve cap hex heads as well, which were a little tricky.

No difference left to right on the bowls, however if you swapped them and the gaskets are not pliable, that could cause the leak, as there could be slight variation in the lip surface between the two. New gaskets might solve it. Nitrite material worked best for me. Other material had issues with eth...

Been busy. Bike back to almost top form, just cosmetic damage most people wouldn't notice. Sold it at a swap meet. Liked the bike, but didn't like how hard it had to work for the type of riding I do. Went to the "dark" side, bought a low mileage 84 sportster XLX (1000 cc.) Point of interest, cost wa...

Mine does it too, has since I overhauled it. Put new roller and spring kit in it at the time. That was 8 years ago and several thousand miles, so, no, not a problem. Assembled dry. Only does it when starting cold and hasn't started at that moment, maybe a bit of kickback causes it.

Didn't realize how long since I'd been off the forum. Put 500 or so miles on the bike the last couple of months with no issues. The clutch had always slipped if I really got on it hard when shifting, doesn't now. Changed to 10W40 Valvoline MC oill, was using 20W50 synthetic MC oil. I also made 2 spa...

Looked at the frame again today, it had been cut and rewelded below the rear engine mount as well, real hash job. Got the engine torn apart, better than the frame, but not by much. When I removed the head I vacuumed most of the top of one piston out of the bore, basically it had crumbled. I had to c...
