CL77 Center Stand Rubber Bumper Replacement

I was looking for something I could use as a rubber bumper stop on my CL77 center stand. I found a $3 grommet at Ace Harware that seems to fit very nicely for anyone needing to replace theirs. See pictures.

Crankcase breather

There's a picture of an aftermarket racing crankcase breather in the Forum if you search for the keywords 'Whistling Wanker'. They were made by Webco back in the 60s. Since they are rare and somewhat odd looking, this info may not help you much.

Yes, the name does sort of roll off the tongue (so to speak) and seems to be appropriately named considering its shape. Perhaps it was used to improve one’s performance, but that’s just a stab in the dark.

A while back on eBay I spotted an item described as a “Whistling Wanker” that mounts on the 305 valve cover area (see attached picture). I forgot what the description said its purpose is. Is anyone familiar with this device and its function?

Thanks,
Ken

Oil leak detection, right side of engine

I took my 305 for a run today. I pulled off the right engine case and checked the area with my black light to discover that the oil leak was coming from the sprocket shaft seal. Finally, the mystery has been solved and can now be fixed. I want to thank everyone for their helpful input on the oil lea...

Oil leak detection, right side of engine

clean everything well then spray with foot spray/powder, then run it. the wet powder will show you the culprit. greg ------------- Thanks Greg for the foot spray solution. It sounds like a very simple and clever solution. I will definitely try it next time I run into this problem. At this point I h...
