sounds like i'm in for some fun. thanks guys. unrelated to the performance aspect i am hovering around the idea of black chrome for the engine, fenders, wheels, and tank piece. my main concern is the engine heat effecting it. is it something worth doing?

thanks for your replies, i am really getting excited for this restoration. i was wondering if it would be possible to paint the engine and what product to use to do it myself, the plan is to make this bike as black and badass as possible.

i would be interested in seeing some pics of the cafe racer. i will be starting on mine in the fall and it is also a 65.

i was thinking it would look pretty nifty putting some scrambler pipes on my superhawk. is there any reason this wouldn't work? i think the only real problem is finding scrambler pipes in the first place. if anyone is selling or knows where to get a set i would appreciate any info.
