Did you check for dirt/sludge in the centrifuges and big-end pin?
I strip the crank completely and clean everything before reassembly.

Two problems seem to plague kickstarter shafts on all of these 250-305 engines. The first is the little '14mm' bush which fits between the low gear and the sleeve gear.
