Yep, that worked. I'd pictured that idea yesterday, but worried about the availability of a long bolt with the exact thread size, pitch, etc. I took one of the top bolts to tractor supply, and experimented with the test board. I got an 8" bolt with 7/16 threads. It went in reasonably well and I got ...

What's the trick for getting the fork legs back in?

I replaced my fork seals on my '67 CB77 which has the aluminum sliders. Now I'm stuck getting the fork legs back into the triple trees. Since the springs are outside, each fork leg is all the way compressed when 'at rest'. The steel fork covers prevent me from feeding the forks all the way up the to...

Pic of chain guard swingarm mount?

The swingarm mount for the chain guard is missing from my '67 CB77. Anyone have their guard off that could post up a pic of what the mount looks like? I'm going to see about getting one welded on.

thanks!

thanks for the responses, definitely need to go through carbueration again. I don't open the throttle all the way up during cold starts, or I would have assumed that the slides just weren't operating fully when cold. But I had eliminated that by just observing them with the filter tubes off, and con...

High idle at cold start

Has anyone encountered this? My bike starts easily and runs great. When it's cold, I just kick it once, and it fires up and revs to about 6000 and holds there. I let it warm a few seconds, then put it in gear and put some load on it and that brings the idle down. Once it is warm and running, I have ...

should have searched the forum first

Hi folks,
this topic is pretty well covered already. I thougt I had searched this before, apparently not. Looks like I need to lube and recondition my speedo works, and use white grease on any new (4th) cable I try.

Speedometer puzzle

Here's a brain teaser for the forum. I have burned through three speedo cables and still haven't figured this out. Bought my bike as a basket case with a broken speedo cable. Once I finally got it running, I bought a used cable on ebay. When the bike got going, the needle started bouncing around lik...
