cam chain replacement

The cam chain I have just bought is of the continuos type. To avoid dismantling the bottom end of the engine to fit the chain. Is it possible to cut the chain and fit the link from the old chain? This way I can fit it without removing the barrels and crankshaft.

Re: Rocker Arm Clamp Pin Removal

I have just removed mine - from the inside side of the cylinder head using a small drift and a hammer you can get the shaft moving. Once you run out of space with the drift try using an "L" shaped 4mm Allen key to knock the shaft out the rest of the way. Be very careful not to damage the i...

Re: Cylinder barrels CB77/CL77

Thanks for the info.
The barrels were for sale on Ebay until yesterday and the final bidder paid £150. Over double what I was prepared to pay. Now I will just get the barrels rebored and fit oversize pistons, maybe high compression type.

Cylinder barrels CB77/CL77

Are the cylinder barrels interchangeable between the CB and CL models and between all years. I am asking as I have been offered NOS CB77 barrels ( part number CB725166 6) for using on my CL77 racer and need to be certain as the seller is 2000 miles away!!

Re: Rev. counter for a CL77

Don,
Thanks for the info. In the mean time in order to participate in my first race I fitted an electric rev. counter I bought at the Netley Marsh bike jumble in September for five pounds. Only problem is that it half reads as my bike has twin coils and I don't know how to wire it up to read bo...

Rev. counter for a CL77

My CL77 doesn't have a rev. counter fitted, nor can I see where the drive comes off the engine. Did this model have one fitted from the factory?
Would it be possible to fit parts from a CB77 to incorporate a rev. counter to my bike? If so, what parts would I need?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Front/Rear Sprockets: Teeth/Supplier?

Thanks for the advice,
I've located a 37 tooth sprocket at David Silver spares.
I hadn't thought about the lenth of chain problem, just as well you brought the matter up.
The bike is almost finished, just need to do the final tuning and test it. Based on this I will take a decision o...
