Carb problem SOLVED...READ THIS!!!!

I know I'm going to get some flack for this and that's ok..after doing Ed Moore's Recipe STRICTLY TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS my carb on the right side would foul a plug in 5 minutes. Finally I called Sportland II in Oak Creek, Wi. (near where I live) and got to talk with a mechanic. He told me that what ev...

Just a guess...but I have seen starting fluid blow holes in pistons if the engine was run for any length of time with just starting fluid. I bought a snowmobile from a guy who did that and replaced both pistons.....just a thought.

What about those foot pegs?

I've ridden my not-so-good-running CB77 around and I found someting that irritates me almost as bad as it not running so good. It's the foot pegs...the driver's foot pegs like to flip up and I have to dink around with my foot to get it back down as I ride. What was Honda thinkin'? Any suggestions as...

Do you have compression? The starting fluid may have cooked the piston enough so when you ran gas for 5 min...it did the piston in.

Right carb for 1966 CB77...got one?

I'm looking for the right carb for my 1966 CB77 Super Hawk. I can't seem to get it leaned out. I'll try a rod adjustment...just can't seem to lean out the right side but it's better after Ed Moore's Tune-up Recipe. Does anyone have a carb for sale just in case? Thanks, Larry

davomoto, EURIKA!!! Hey,,,,Ed Moore's Recipe did the trick on the ignition and it wasn't hard either. Thanks for explaining the side cover thing. The Recipe shoud have that in it...I'm not the kind of guy who "hopes" that by taking this and that off, I just might stumble on an answer. Thank you yet ...
