Re: Cleaning sticking clutch plates

Are the friction made of aluminum core and black friction material? Did ya wire brush or blast the steel plates. Did ya install the wires?. ..............lm I have a 66 Honda Dream. The clutch plates had been sticking late last year so this April I disassembled the clutch pack to fix the problem. T...

Cleaning sticking clutch plates

I have a 66 Honda Dream. The clutch plates had been sticking late last year so this April I disassembled the clutch pack to fix the problem. The plates were stuck; I separated them and sprayed them with Gunk, wiped them down and put everything back together. As suggested on this board, I refilled th...

Front brake hub problem

I'm helping my son rebuild a 1965 305 Dream. The front brake cable holder on the hub was broken so he bought a new left-side hub. When we went to reinstall it, it doesn't seem to fit flush whereas the old one did fit. There is an inner ring with several ribs that make the new hub stick out about 5/1...

Intermittent kickstart engagement

I've searched posts for this problem. There are times where my kickstart works fine, times where it doesn't enagage at all, and times where it stops engaging about 3/4 of the way thru the kick. If it doesn't engage at all, rolling the bike slightly while in gear seems to make it go back to working. ...

Have you tried new spark plugs? Had a similar problem with mine, put in brand new plugs and it fired up immediately. The old plugs didn't look that bad but apparently there was an issue. Hope this helps.

More parts needed for 1965 305 Dream

Work on my son's project bike goes on. Trying on this site before moving to ebay. A long shot maybe but we've had some success in getting other needed parts from here. We are in need of a working headlight. I see a repro on ebay but there is no bulb or bulb assembly available. I'd consider this rout...

Stator, other right-case related parts needed

I've bought a 65 Dream to work on with my son as a project and posted some questions and a pic in the "Electrical" section of the forum today regarding magneto parts. It's time for a new stator, and possibly the rotor (?) part that rotates inside of it. The motor turns and has compression so there i...
